Come along and have a ‘Brush with Art’ we said, have fun and have a go – and they did! Approximately thirty people, from 2 to well into their 80s, came to a free event organised by Marlborough Artists on 29 March at Marlborough Scout Hall. Those attending were able to try out watercolour, acrylic and oil paints, pastels, oil pastels, chalks, watercolour pencils, felt tips for the really little ones and a huge selection of collage materials. A painting of Marlborough by Jenny Pepper was enlarged and divided into panels, each person attending then tried out the various materials on their panel. The resulting painting when the panels are assembled will be exhibited at the Marlborough Artists exhibition from 9 to 11 May.
